Much Muq application programming is going to be heavily text oriented, whether it be text virtual worlds, web page synthesis, serving and processing or my mail client. Perl makes hacking text a pleasure and is known and liked by a large proportion of Muq's potential audience: A Muq compiler for a good approximation to Perl syntax would be welcomed and used by lots of people. If it were a really close approximation, we might even be able to run existing Perl library code within Muq.
This is another project I'd love to see done, but which doesn't require my knowledge of Muq internals, and which isn't critical enough that I'm likely to get to it any time soon.
